The commission will determine a price direction for standing offer electricity prices for small customers from 1 July 2024 – 30 June 2027

On 1 June 2023, we received terms of reference to investigate and determine a price direction for the supply of electricity to small customers.

Final report and price direction: Retail electricity price investigation 2024-27

On 23 May 2024, the commission released its final report and price direction for standing offer prices for the supply of electricity to small customers on ActewAGL’s regulated tariffs from 1 July 2024.

As part of the investigation, the commission engaged Frontier Economics to provide advice on the updated contracting heuristic. A copy of Frontier Economics’ updated report is available below.

Release of Draft Report and Proposed Price Direction: Retail electricity price investigation 2024-27

On 29 January 2024, the commission released its draft decision and proposed price direction on the 2024-27 retail electricity price investigation.

As part of the investigation, the commission engaged Frontier Economics to provide advice on the methodology to determine energy purchase cost, retail operating cost and retail margin. A copy of Frontier Economics’ report is available below .

Written submissions on the draft report are invited. A submission coversheet is available HERE.

The closing date for written submissions on the draft report is Thursday, 29 February 2024.
